But the man said, "Why are you looking in the place of the dead for someone who is alive?
Don't Miss His Call. Oh, why should you carry on, again and again, with the same message of Christ Crucified? For it is my very life; apart from the cross, there is no life in me at all. I've never been so alive, as I am in my death - my death to self and the worries of this world. Why my very words, indeed are of the Lord, for He awoke me and provoked me with thought. He was streaming words through my mind, causing me fear that I should miss His message to be delivered to someone. I rousted from my bed and began to write. But in honesty, I initially resist and wrestled with the Lord for but a moment as it was 1:00 AM, and I wanted to sleep. Similar events have occurred where I wrestled with the Lord and did not obey, but I only regretted them when He revealed the opportunity I missed to have Christ manifest Himself through me. Missing an opportunity to show God to this world has become my biggest fear, my biggest problem in this world for what else could compare to such a thing? Many times my words have been the answer to someone's prayer. There is only death outside of such an existence for that is true life.
We say, "He is alive; He is alive." I declare with my lips, that, "He is alive." He is alive within me. My body is an instrument for Him. He lives in this world through me and other believers. Some have wondered is heaven near or far; and is this life really just hell? I tell you that heaven has never been nearer for the Son of glory has come down; and His Spirit remains in the hearts of every believer. Never before has God been so near His people. Often, when I speak, it is He who speaks; when I look; it is He who looks; and when I think, it is He who speaks to me. He hasn't been put to death with no evidence or trace of Him and we live on 'blind faith.' Nay, I should say, 'Nay, to such nonsense and lack of formal training in the truths of the holy scripture. For the bible is clear from cover to cover that the Lord seeks to be known and He has revealed Himself to man. He showed Himself to all His people: Adam, Job, Abraham, Moses, David and the list goes on. He has come into this world and demonstrated His spectacular attributes and awesome power, even though He can already be known through creation.
Yes, Christ Has Made Himself Known. So wanting to demonstrate His love to us, He has made Himself known so that even a dull of mind creature such as me, could know that He is truly speaking to me, to give me the reassurance to know and trust in Him with believe. To know that Christ lives is my strength; it's my victory song. He has revealed Himself to me often enough that I have come to know Him and cherish Him. It's so precious a gift to my soul, that I begged Him that I should have Him manifest Himself in me everyday, or I would not want to live. What is life, apart from the One True God? Nothing! Yes, I told God that I must have Him work through me everyday in a miraculous way, or I would not want to live. He is my life. I said this knowing that He is the author of life: that He gives and takes it away. I know the the very breath I breathe is of Him. How could I speak such a thing? Because He is so alive and active within me that I would already be dead apart from Him.
Why Would There be One More Devotional in a Sea of Devotionals? Why would this one carry on with Christ crucified, rather then discuss the messily events and life circumstances I've faced throughout my day? Because this life counts for nothing; it is only for a moment and then it passes. I should count it nothing to the glory that awaits me; this glory is my hope. I keep my gaze upon the Risen One which causes me to rise above the troubles of this world. The taste of this world is bitter when compared to His majesty. If only I could convince you to look beyond this cursed material world, so that you would forever gaze upon the glory of Christ Jesus seated in the heavenly places, far and lifted up.
To Fix Your Eyes Upon Jesus is to Want for Nothing. It is to have perfect peace. Rivers of joy will flow through you, regardless of your circumstance for the Prince of Peace will come make His abode within your heart. He will build His castle in every chamber of your heart, as you give each chamber to Him. Coming in, room by room, He cleanses them and covers them with pure gold. He will overlay gold upon everything that He touches. He does such a transformation in your life that you reach a point of no return: no turning back for you've tasted of the Lord and found He is good. At this point, you shed the worries of this world. Truly, the point of knowing that God allowed each circumstance to happen in your life and in some way it is best for you so you count it all joy knowing that His grace is sufficient for you. If only I could help every believer reach this point. I'd arise at 1:00 AM every day.
Cast Your Cares Upon Him. I tell you that He can be trusted. You don't have to worry. You don't even have to figure everything out on your own. He tells us to look to Him. Truly, I have done this and it's real; He does come and take the problems away. He fixes things; he gives knowledge or words when needed; He softens the hearts of your enemies; and He takes care of all of it, when you let Him. He desires to move and live within your being. He wants to manifest Himself through your flesh. If only you would look upon Him and see Him; to see that He is truly alive. He owns and rules the entire universe. He is the Master of everyone you encounter so there is no problem that He can't reach. The blood has been splatter all over the tabernacle on every wall and every item within it. So it is with your life, the blood has been spilled and covers it all. He is life; He is vitality; and He is victory. Will you give way to the King? Will you mediate upon His precepts? Will you come to know Him so intimately that even a day without Him magnified within you, would be death?
Dear heavenly Father, I pray that everyone makes the decision today to allow you to be the Lord of their lives. I pray Father that they understand today that Lord denotes Mastery and they are Your subject, a slave to You and Your righteousness. I pray they decide to look to you instead of their problems, that they will listen for Your still small voice, and that they will obey when they hear. Amen
