The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation; my stronghold (Psalm 18:2).
We Have Been Created to Shine with the Joy and Victory of the Lord. We are to proclaim the excellencies of the Lord for all He has done for us, and this is how we shine. This is how we are saved, from His wrath. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Although the Lord is my friend, my father and my protector; He remains a Mighty King who presides over a Kingdom, a Kingdom of glory, honor and righteousness. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords (Deuteronomy 10:17; Revelation 19:16). He is the Alpha and Omega (Revelation 22:13). He is to be revered and honored (Psalm 2:11). He created you with a purpose and He will bring it to completion for He is faithful (1 Peter 2:9). The Lord is my victory song (Psalm 118:14), so I can lift my horn and proclaim His glory (Psalm 89:17).
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation; my stronghold" (Psalm 18:2). The Lord wants to save you from your troubles and then have you blow your shorfar (horn) about it, proclaiming His glory, not your own for you have no light in you. You must believe in your heart and confess with your mouth to be made right in God's eyes and then be saved from His wrath. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is Justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (Romans 10:9-10).
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation; my stronghold (Psalm 18:2).
You can delight yourself in the Lord, with your soul being content: lacking nothing if you really drink this truth down deep into your soul. When we rest our souls upon a particular promise of God, many Christians refer to that as 'standing upon a scripture.' They are putting all their hope and trust into that particular truth of God. They're watching and waiting with full assurance that the Lord will deliver. Your faith can begin as a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds. The important thing is that you're trusting in Him. He will grow that seed into the largest tree in the forest and all the life around you will take shelter and protection in your mighty branches, just as King Nebuchadnezzar was in Daniel 4:1-25. You will become to others, what God is to you.
If you stand on this scripture, Psalm 18:2, you'll never be shaken!
The Lord is My Victory Song, in Whom I will Boast. The Lord wants us to boast about Him. This is the point of life. We face various trials, but God protects and comforts us through them. We are not put to death by them and we don't even have to be fearful or discouraged (Joshua 1:9). All we have to do is proclaim the good news; raise your horn of salvation and tell all about the victory you have in Christ Jesus. This is why we all are called to be evangelists for we are all to be confessing with our mouths what the Lord has done. Taste and see that it is good. Lord Jesus Slept During the Storm, Because He Rested on the Promises of God. While everyone was running frantically during the storm, Jesus slept (Matthew 8:23-27). He rested upon the promises of God as we find in Psalm 18:2. When you learn to rest in the promises of God, your mustard seed grows into a might tree and all those around you can take comfort and protection in you (Daniel 4:1-25). Dear heavenly Father, help us to know and understand Your holy Word. Give us hearts that long to know You and to walk with You. Father help us to know and trust in the promise of Psalm 18:2, and let us be able to to sing songs and melodies of Your wondrous deeds. You alone are worthy of all praise. Forgive us Father that we grumbled and complained and sought our own way of escape rather than trusting in You. Forgive us Father that we sought our own glory, having pride in ourselves, for this is futile thinking as there is no light in us. Let us know that the only light we can shine comes from You, the Father of lights; You, the Son, the light of the world, the light of man; You, the Spirit of truth to light our path. Give us faith to trust in You and to proclaim Your glory; let us shine. AMEN
