JESUS THE HIGH PRIEST FULFILLED THE LAW - GIVING YOU PEACE WITH GOD, WHICH IS YOUR FREEDOM TO LOVE WITHOUT LIMITS
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Matthew 5:17-20 ESV
The Fulfillment of the Law is Your Freedom. We live in the 'age of grace' where mankind is at peace with God, for Jesus' death was to redeem mankind from the wrath of God against ungodliness (John 3:16) and it's available for all who believe. Believing that God sent His Son to free you from fear of death, fear of the enemy and fear of God's wrath is extraordinarily liberating! Jesus' work on the cross taught us that we have a protective Father in heaven who loves us, cares for us, and is watching over us. He has a plan and purpose for our lives and He will bring it to completion. He is involved; He is sovereign; and He is working all things together for our good.
Grace is Not an Invitation to Lawlessness. Jesus' work on the cross opened the gates of Heaven to gentiles, as well as, Jews. He freed us from the civil and ceremonial laws of God, but not the moral laws. Having access to God, liberates us from fear and disobedience leading to lawlessness but it comes with a small price to pay in return. Since Jesus' paid it all, we in return are asked to be thankful and merciful, like our Father. Not as dead works which we think lead us to salvation, but as a free-will offering of thankfulness - for God is with us now. We've heard the stories of old timers with their superstitious beliefs; this is the outcome of having to protect yourself - not having peace with God. Now that we don't live under the punitive system of an eye-for-an-eye, we are free to spend time being thankful and loving. You could say, "The Age of Grace is ruled by The Law of Love'"
The Key Difference is God is our Friend and Father. The gates to heaven have been opened and the fiery wrath of God against mankind's sins has been poured out upon Jesus, as the substitutionary atonement. God's not mad anymore; He is now our friend. As a believer, we don't have to live with a fearful expectation of judgment, the wrath of God, for every sin we commit. Instead, we acknowledge it, repent and ask forgiveness. We don't have to fear the enemy or his accusations against us, for he was defeated. Even death has lost it's sting, since we've been granted eternal life. Our hearts aren't ruled by fear, so they can become tender, as unto a child. With the free heart opened by God's love, He requires us to forgive and love one another.
Understanding the Father's Love will Soften Your Heart - Making You More Loving of God and One Another
You are Free to Love. Having peace with God because of His tender mercy and grace, gives us much to be thankful about. Instead of consuming ourselves with fear or anxiety about the events of life, we are now free to ponder the glorious mysteries of our Lord and Savior. We can relax and enter His rest and share in His peace and joy because we know where our strength and protection comes. It comes from the Lord. Knowing the love of God, makes us love Him in return. He loves us so much that He removed every single barrier between Himself and us. Having complete access to the garden with the tree of life with it's live-giving power and flowing rivers of peace and joy, softens our hearts of stone, giving us softened hearts of flesh. The more we eat and drink from this garden, the softer we become. The hardness of life is washed away.
Set Yourself Free by Loving One Another. The believer who is being lead by the Holy Spirit will experience the promised REST of the Lord because He is leading you to His garden of peace. The closer our walk, the more we experience the fruits of the Spirit; which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When we walk in bonds of fear, worry, anxiety, depression, anger, bitterness, selfishness, jealousy, defeat, frustration or judgment then we are suppressing the Spirit and allowing our flesh and the enemy to rule over us. We have to focus on the Spirit and where He is leading us, not looking at this world and it's challenges.
Listen for the Still Small Voice. The Lord speaks in a 'still small voice.' He is a perfect gentleman, only gently whispering in our hearts. The more we listen; the more we can obey. The more we obey; the more our hearts are purified and cleansed. The more we are cleansed; the more liberated we are. The more liberated we are; the more peace and joy we experience. Set yourself free today. Be free enough to love without limits. Being free enough to trust the Lord with a cheerful and thankful heart being tender and merciful towards others, and ourselves.
Dear Heavenly Father, hear our cry of surrender to You and Your mastery over our lives. Help us to leave the worries of this world behind to follow Your still small voice instead. Lead us to the tree of life and garden of rest. AMEN
