When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father
the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father--he will testify about me.
When the Holy Spirit Comes, He Gives Gifts to Man. The Holy Spirit is the third person of God's divine essence, in the trinity. He is the promised helper, which we need to accomplish our goal. What is that you ask, what is my plan and purpose? In the simplest understanding, it is for us to reach the right side of eternity, having followed the narrow path by walked through the wilderness of this life. As we walk, we're to talk, telling others how to find the path, along the way. We live in a dark world. Darkened by what, the sun comes up every day? It's a darkened spiritual world, for we have closed off our understanding and connection with God, for we did not want to give Him honor and glory, even though we knew He was always there.
Called from death into life? We find the path, not on our own merit, because we are dead spiritually in our trespasses (Ephesians 2:1), for the bible tells us, They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts (Ephesians 4:18). We would not hear or see the things of God, even though they are openly on display: in creation, in the testimonies of Jesus's work on the cross and His miracles, and in the testimony of transformed lives of believers. So, There is no one who understands, and no one who seeks God (Romans 3:11). So the only way we could find the path and even want the path is if Jesus calls us from dead to life. Like we witnessed in Jesus called Lazarus back to life, and when Ezekiel called the dry bones to arise (John 11:43; Romans 4:17; Ezekiel 37:4-7). Once hearing the call, we come forth, just as Lazarus and the dry bones responded. The Holy Spirit is the Wind of Life and Light. Once we hear the call, we are raised to life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; 3:1-4). But what does that mean? Just as the dry bones of Ezekiel came together, with tendons, muscles, and flesh - yet they had no life, no breath, in them; not until Ezekiel sent the wind, the Holy Spirit, to come inside them to give them life (Ezekiel 37:9-10). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, who is the light and life of man, and of the world (Romans 8:9; John 1:4; 8:12), for we know, When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life' (John 8:12). But not only that, He is the Spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Isaiah 11:2-3; Proverbs 2:10). So now that you have the light of life, which is the enlightenment of wisdom, knowledge and understanding dwelling within you; now you can see the path which leads to eternal life, and be wise enough to follow it. He is the Spirit guide, to help you along the way. Allows reminding you of Jesus' words and truth, so you get lost, by losing heart. He is always there, reminding God that you are His child. He is always there praying the perfect prayer for you. He is always there filling you with life and love. The Void is Now Filled. My people parish for lack of knowledge (Job 36:12; Proverbs 5:23, 10:21; Hosea 4:6). And we learn from the wisdom book, Ecclesiastes, He made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end (Ecclesiastes 3:11), which is a fantastic truth to ponder. We understand there is more to life then just this earthly voyage, yet we don't have the understanding to figure it all out. This is the black hole, the pit in our hearts which left us feeling empty and void prior to having Christ. We knew there was far more then what we could lay our hands upon and even wrap our small minds around; but what was it? Always pondering, and ever seeking, but never finding. All the 'great' philosophers and scientists through the ages, haven't even come close to unlocking the great mysteries of life, creation or eternity. We tried, but to no avail, to fill this void. We tried to stuff it with everything we could: worldly wisdom, pleasure, lusts and desires, comfort and security, money and wealth, fame and popularity, beauty and sexuality, drugs and alcohol, houses and cars, and the list continues. But nothing of this world could fill it, no matter how much we collected, for this void is eternal. It's beyond time, space and matter, the substance of things we possess. This endless filling, left us empty. We were lost and broken. Only an eternal God, could fill an eternal void, in our hearts. Our darkened hearts, were darkened on an eternal scale, no wonder, we could not do it ourselves. We had lost the light, the eternal light. There is no other way to fulfillment or enlightenment, only through Jesus. There is no other name. Amazing. Our God is amazing! Praise His Holy Name forever! Amen. The Holy Spirit Cuts Through To The Truth. He is the word of God, which is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). This is the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding which lights up our understanding so we can cut through the deceitful lies of the enemy which bind us in chains, binding us to our sinful desires and lusts which led to death. We can cut free from the lustful desires of our hearts and cut free from the deceitful schemes of the devil, for we know they both lead to death. The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus by giving or reminding us of the wisdom of Jesus, what He told us (John 16:14). He will give power, love, and a self-control to you so you can be a witness of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 1:7: Acts 1:7-9). The Holy Spirit is the Seed of Life. Kingdom of God is like a seed (Mark 4:30-31), and we get the first deposited of the Kingdom now, the imperishable seed, the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:23; Luke 8:11), which is the guarantee that we are going to make it to the Kingdom (2 Corinthians 1:22). We are to let this seed grow within us, and then begin to bear good fruit from it. And we will be judged on our fruit and receive our rewards for our good deeds (2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 2:6), with Jesus' words tightening the core, in saying, But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken (Matthew 12:36). So we must watch our words, for they are death or life (Proverbs 8:21). Whatever a man sows, he will reap, as God will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7) so if your words are sweat and lovely, but the intention of your heart or your actions are deceptive and evil, and you will get the fruits of your labor, and God will expose it on the last day. You can lie to man, but you can't lie to God. If you plant unrighteousness, then you'll have a harvest of unrighteousness. If you plant righteousness, then you'll have peace, love and joy in your life, regardless of the trials. And in the end, you'll also get life or death, whichever way you walked. Life is a path; it's where you end up. He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly, but he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6). We are given gifts by the Spirit, to help us along this path, and for the benefit of others we encounter. We won't be rewarded, for what we have not done, for the Lord is righteous. The Holy Spirit Will Keep You on the Path. He will convict you of sin, not because He is mad at you, or because He is mean, but rather, because He loves you and wants to transform you into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). That's such a lovely truth, once you accept it deep within your sou; that he is always for you, and never against you. He loves you and will not forsake you. As you walk in His ways, He will begin to manifest, and we become more lovely for we will express His divine attributes of love and forgiveness, as we die to ourselves (2 Corinthians 4:10-11). And if we keep obeying, and abiding in Him, then we will have peace, for the God of all peace with be with us (Philippians 4:9; Romans 12:21). It's worth the cost to die to ourselves, because we have no life or light. He is life, so He can give you life, for Jesus' words are life (John 6:63). And our life, our walk, which is in the Spirit, will bear fruits: the fruits of love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Dear heavenly Father, help us to receive these words and hold them near and dear to our hearts, help us to see the error to our ways, and convict us of our transgressions, so we can become more loving and patient with others, and ourselves, help us Father to have no deceit within us, and guard our hearts and minds so that we can think and know - only what you love, help us Father for our flesh is weak. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our Savior, our life-giver. Amen
