Obey, and peace will be with you (Philippians 4:9). Jesus said it is better for us if He goes for, He will send the helper, the Holy Spirit (John 16:7). What could be better than Jesus with us? The God of Peace to be with us, in our hearts (2 Corinthians 1:22). He is our helper for He will teach you all things and all truth (John 14:26). He came to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8) so when we do right, He is our Comforter (Acts 9;31). He will guide us (Romans 8:14) for He is the light of the straight path to our feet; He is the way of Jesus. He glorifies Jesus because He confirms all that Jesus did and said (John 16:14). ‘For those who live according to the flesh their minds are set on the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit’ Romans 8:5. Being led by the Spirit is to forgo your own thoughts, feelings and desires, ‘For the things of the Spirit seem to be foolishness to the natural man’ (1 Corinthians 2:14). Often, it’s not the path we’d chose since we like the easy and self-gratifying path, but that leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). If we think with our natural mind, people who are led by the Spirit will seem crazy for, ‘His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts’ (Isaiah 55:8-9). ‘And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth’ (Colossians 3:2). ‘Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect’ (Romans 12:2). He will guide your thoughts, your speech, your conduct, your actions and how you treat others. He will begin to mold you into the perfection of who you really are - a child of God (Romans 8:16). ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding’ Proverbs 3:5. Welcome Him into your heart and allow Him time to speak to you. It requires quite time for He speaks in a still small voice inside your heart. When we obey His words, then we find peace for it is the fruit of righteousness (Isaiah 32:17). ‘Be doers of the word, not hearers only’ James 1:22. But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves up on your most sacred faith. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20). We talk to ourselves all day, this is a great opportunity to begin talking with God. He desires intimacy with us. Prayer is just you talking and listening to Him. People make prayer harder than it needs to be. You can’t even get it wrong because the Spirit intercedes and tells God exactly what you should have said (Romans 8:26). It’s just you humbly submitting before God. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Resisting the devil, and following God, is the hidden path of peace in our lives. May you always walk upon this path. Dear heavenly Father, we come to you with heaviness of hearts for we haven't followed You on the path of righteousness. We need You for clarity in our decisions. We need Your guidance. We need Your strength to endure the trials. We need Your power to overcome the evil one and our very own fleshly desires that wage war against us. We ask for faith to help us grow in You. We ask that we could find the hope and joy that David found in Psalm 94:19, “When I was burdened with worries, You comforted me and made me feel secure.” How lovely is it be with You for You are our rock. Let us draw near to You. AMEN
