You can confidently approach God's throne to receive grace and mercy. Every ancient religion says that you can not approach their gods. People went out of their way to satisfy their gods, even doing child sacrifices. The people were afraid of them, and often thought they were being punished. But today, in the age of grace with God; He isn't out to punish you. The Bible calls Him your friend (John 15:15). He isn't angry with you. This is the marvel of the work on the cross. God is Holy and Righteous (Psalm 145:17). His Righteousness requires punishment, which is just (Psalm 119:37). Jesus satisfied the punishment requirement for all of our sins (2 Corinthians 1:21); it even adds, "So that we might become the righteousness of Christ." There is no more punishment requirement, so God is your friend now (John 15:15). This is the deep meaning of being saved by Jesus (Ephesians 2:3-5). You were saved from the Wrath of God; you will not die; and you aren't bond to eternal punishment for your sins (Romans 6:23, John 3:36, 5:24, Matthew 25:36). This is the age of grace (Ephesians 3:2). There is nothing more marvelous.
God wants to be KNOWN by you. "No longer do I call you servants for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have hear from the Father I have made known to you." John 15:15 God's love for you is beyond imagination, especially if you've never really been loved. If the people who should have protected you are the ones who hurt you, then this will be harder to understand but not impossible. It took me 5 years at a church which focused on the love of God for me to finally get it, but I had to go 2 times a week. It's almost unbelievable. How could a holy and righteous God love me and desire to spend eternity with me? There have been times I wept when He revealed Himself and His favor for me. The God of heaven and earth wants to spend time talking to me, literally. Not in an audible voice, but the still small voice within my heart, where He, the Holy Spirit lives. An indescribable peace will overtake you if you allow yourself to develop this same intimate relationship with LORD Jesus that I've come to know and trust. He is alive and active on the inside of all believers. Continue to focus on Him throughout the day. Since you can enter His presence, begin to talk with Him. He wants to connect with you. YOU'RE INVITED! HE LOVES YOU! Just say little prayers to begin, such as, "Thank you for this coffee," or "It's a beautiful day, I appreciate it," or "I want to get closer to you, help me find you." He is listening. Find time to be silent and ask Him to speak to you. Listen for Him. May your day be filled with joy and peace. May you know the LORD walks before you to protect you. May your mind be connected to the Spirit, as your spirit already is for the believer. AMEN.
