The Law of Moses Was a Curse

Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.
The Law was Give to Bind Sin and Set the Captive Free. God wanted fellowship with man, and He made a promise to Abraham that it would happen, and all who believe will receive the promise. But before He could have fellowship, or even friendship, with mankind, He had to deal with our transgressions. His righteousness required Him to deal with our transgressions of His perfect and pure holiness. He accomplished this by giving us the law, which would first enslave us and then set us free (Galatians 3:22); but in doing so, it would make the whole world accountable to God (Romans 3:19). Through this process, instead of seeking our own hearts desires, which are desperately wicked (Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 8:7; Philippians 2:21), now we could draw near to God (Hebrews 7:19) for love of the law (Psalm 119:97) for it is perfect (Psalms 19:7a). The law was perfect, but it made nothing perfect, because of the weakness of the flesh (Hebrews 7:18-19).
The Law Brought Sin to Life. The law was brought because of transgression (Galatians 3:19), for it gave knowledge of it (Romans 3:20; 7:7b), so it could be bound or imprisoned under one title, 'sin' (Galatians 3:22). This does not sound so bad, until you realize that sin was dead, but the law brought it to life (Romans 7:8) for it used the law against me to deceiving me, by arousing my sinful passions, which killed me (1 Corinthians 15:56; Romans 7:5; 9-11). So the law imprisoned us, made us sin more, and killed us even though it is perfect and good. Our hearts only wanted evilness, even while knowing righteousness via the law. There has to be a reason why this was necessary? Yes, it was so we could be held under the law, which served as our guardian, or schoolmaster (Galatians 3:23-25). Why?
God Did What the Law Could Not Do. God bound everyone together as captives under the law of sin, so that He could set them free; free to be captives of righteousness to God. He did what the law could not do, being weakened by the flesh (Romans 7:4). At the right time, God sent forth His Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh to condemn sin to the flesh, by having Him walk according to the Spirit, not according to the flesh; to redeem those under the law, so that they might receive adoption as sons of God (Romans 8:3-4; Galatians 4:4-5). He did this because we couldn't. But now does His death help us? When we believe, We died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to Him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God (Romans 7:4). But now having been released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old as of the written code (Romans 7:6).
We Can Receive the Inheritance. So now, we could receive the inheritance of promise of God given to Abraham 430 years before the law (Galatians 3:17-18; Hebrews 6:17). What is the inheritance? To be justified by faith, in Jesus Christ, so you can be sons of God, heirs to the hope of eternal life (Titus 3:7), heirs to the grace of life (1 Peter 3:7), heirs of all things (Hebrews 1:2), heirs to the Kingdom of God (Galatians 3:24-26; James 2:5); heirs of God and fellow heirs of Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be gloried with Him (Romans 8:17).
The Acceptable Sacrifice, the Payment, for Sin. Within the law, was the method of 'payment,' the sacrifice of the body which He prepared in His Son as an atonement for sin (1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 40:6; Hebrews 2:9; 10:5; Genesis 22:1-19). When the religious leaders were preparing for the Passover, they became sidetracked, or so they thought, with the murder of Jesus. But it ended up, that He was the acceptable Passover sacrifice, the lamb without blemish with no broken bones who would be the scapegoat to receive the wrath of God, thus taking it away from the people. So we are covered in the blood of Jesus, our savior from death and the wrath of God. And when the angel of death passed over those with blood upon their doorposts, they stayed alive (Exodus 12:1-32), and so shall we. This is the eternal life we shall have by the sprinkling of Jesus' blood upon the doorposts of our hearts.
