Will of God = Jesus give himself up to save All from evil/sin

Galatians 1:3-5 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 3
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

GOD LISTENS TO HIS CHILDREN
John 9:31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.

Brothers/Sisters of JEsus - if do the will of the father

CHILDREN OF GOD
Mark 3:35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

Luke 9:23 23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

John 7:17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

God's will = rejoice, pray & give thanks in all things; be wise

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 5:15-20 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

god's will = u sanctified (holy & honorable); control ur body

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified:
  • that you should avoid sexual immorality;
  • 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body
    • in a way that is holy and honorable,
    • 5 not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God;
  • 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.
    • The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.
    • 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
  • 8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.

God's will - living (spiritual) sacrifice (Holy & pleasing)

Romans 12:1-2 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy,
  • to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
    • holy and pleasing to God--
    • this is your true and proper worship.
  • 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
    • but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  • Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--
    • his good, pleasing and perfect will.

SPIRITUAL SACRIFICE
1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-19, 11-17 4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him-- 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
...
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
...

11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. 17 Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

Ephesians 6:6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

slaves to god = as Jesus was

Mark 10:43-45 Jesus slave to God
43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
  • John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
  • John 5:30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
  • John 8:28 "Jesus therefore said, 'When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me,'"

Romans 6:15-23 Slaves to Righteousness
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. 19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

will of god= do good, suffering for it = overcome sin

1 Peter 2:15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.
1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

1 Peter 4:1-3  1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.  3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
...
19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

Hebrews 10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
