Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

statement of faith

The bible
We affirm the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant (absence of any error), and the infallible (incapable of making error) and authoritative Word of God, containing no error, as well as, incapable of teaching error as it provides wisdom, knowledge, understanding, encouragement, guidance, comfort, instruction, and training. The sixty six books of The Bible are the divine revelation and inspired Word of God: perfect, pure, and inerrant in their original manuscripts. In it's entirety, the old testament and the new testament writings are truths revealed by God, not the will or invention of man, but rather the writings of chosen men guided with the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21; (1 Corinthians 2:7-14); Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Psalm 12:6; (1 Thessalonians 2:13); John 1:1-2); Psalm 119:4, 13, 86, 88, 89, 138, 152). Therefore, the Bible is authoritative, being the sole and final authority for man on all matters of faith, understanding, and practices of righteousness ((2 Titus 3:16-17); (2 Peter 1:20-21); Psalm 19:7; Hebrews 4:12).
  • It was given so man can know God and be in relationship with Him: namely that He would be our God and we would be His people (Genesis 17:7; Exodus 6:7; Ezekiel 34:24, 36:28; Jeremiah 7:23, 29:11, 30:22, 31:33).
  • It is to be used for our teaching, correction and training in righteousness and it is our only and final authority (2 Timothy 3:16; John 17:17; Psalm 19:7; Hebrews 12:6).
  • The meaning is made known to us through diligent study under the direct revelation of the Holy Spirit (John 7:17; 16:12-15; (1 John 2:20); (1 Corinthians 2:7-15)).
God almighty
We believe in one true God eternally existing in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) each of Whom is fully and equally God; possesses all of the divine nature and attributes (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:14; 10:30; (2 Corinthians 13:14)). There is one living and true God (Psalm 84:2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; (1 Corinthians 8:6)), who is a Spirit (John 4:24). He is the 'Almighty:' first and the last, the Alpha and Omega, infinite and immortal, and besides Him there is no other (Isaiah 44:6, Revelation 1:8, 21:6, 22:13; James 2:19; Isaiah 46:9-10; (1 Timothy 6:16)). He is a triune God existing as three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit but all are equal in honor, power and authority. ((1 Corinthians 2:11, 8:6); (2 Corinthians 1:21-22, 3:17, 13:14); Colossians 2:9; Isaiah 9:6, 44:6; John 1:14, 10:30, 14:16-17, 25-26; Luke 3:21-22; Matthew 1:23, 3:16-17, 28:19; Romans 14:17-18; Genesis 1:1-2, (1 John 5:7-8); (1 Peter 1:2)). God was before all things and all things were created by Him with everything being made from nothing, thereby demonstrating His power, wisdom and glory (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17; Psalm 90:2; Genesis 1:1). God is sovereign (Psalm 115:3), eternal (Isaiah 44:6), all-knowing (Psalm 139:4), all-powerful (Job 42:2), holy (Isaiah 6:1-7), unchanging (Malachi 3:6), just (Psalm 97:2) and loving (1 John 4:8).

  • He has unending wisdom, knowing everything: omniscient  (Isaiah 28:29, 46:9-10; (1 Samuel 2:3); Psalm 147:5; Romans 11:33, 16:27; Job 9:4; Jeremiah 10:12; Hebrews 4:13).
    • Since he has wisdom and knowledge, He can give it to us (James 1:5; Proverbs 2:6).
  • He has unlimited and everlasting power: omnipotent (Ephesians 1:19; Daniel 4:35; Isaiah 43:13, 46:9-10; Colossians 1:17; Psalm 24:8, 147:5; Job 9:4; Luke 1:37; Jeremiah 10:12).
    • Since He has all power, He can give it to us (Ephesians 3:16).
  • He is always everywhere: omnipresent (Colossians 1:17; Psalm 139:7-10; Jeremiah 23:23-24; Isaiah 14:27).
    • Since He is everywhere, He can protect and guide us in all things (Psalm 25:4-5, 32:8).
  • By His sovereign providential power; all things belong to Him and He reigns over all things and people (Psalm 24:1-2,10,29, 115:3, 35:6; (1 Chronicles 29:11-14)).
  • He has life within Himself and can create life from the breathe of His mouth (John 5:26; Psalm 33:6).
    • Since He as life, He can give us life (Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4; Nehemiah 9:6).
  • He is immutable: without variation or even a shadow of change (Psalm 33:11; Malachi 3:6).
    • Since He is unchangeable and known, He can be trusted (Psalm 32:5-6).
  • He is effectual to achieve what He promised; nothing is too hard for Him (Romans 4:21; Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:17,27; Luke 1:37; Isaiah 14:27, 46:9-10; Ephesians 3:20; Matthew 19:26; Job 42:2).
  • He dwells in an inapproachable light that no man has seen or can see (1 Timothy 6:16; John 1:18; Psalm 97:9).
  • He is love (1 John 4:8,16; Psalm 136:5).
    • so He can love us enough to save us (John 3:16).
  • He is blessed (1 Timothy 1:11; Romans 1:25)
    • so every good and perfect gift comes from Him (James 1:17).
    • so we can trust in His eternally powerful blessing and life-giving attributes for He is self-sufficient and independent (Ephesians 3:20).
  • He has a redemptive plan which He made known and He will fulfill it by bringing all things into completion (Proverbs 16:4; Isaiah 46:10; Ephesians 1:11-12; Romans 8:29-30).
  • He wants to be known and gloried (2 Peter 3:18).
Jesus Christ
Jesus eternally existed as the essence God in heaven with all honor and glory before His incarnation as the begotten Son of God into this world (John 3:16, 8:57-58; Philippians 2:5-8). He came to fulfill the will of the Father as the only acceptable sacrifice to satisfy God's divine justice (Hebrews 2:14-15, 10:11-12; (1 Peter 3:18); Philippians 2:5-8). He in His very nature was God, but did not count Himself as such but rather He took the very nature of a servant, in human flesh and likeness even humbling Himself to the point of death on a cross, so that He might defeat the Devil who held the power of death to free those who live in slavery to the fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15; Philippians 2:5-8). He was physically raised from the dead (Romans 1:4); (1 Corinthians 15:16-20).  He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God with all power, authorities and with angels being subjected to him (Ephesians 1:20; Colossians 3:1; Acts 1:9-11, 2:33, 7:55; Romans 8:34). He is interceding as the only mediator between God and man, for those who trust in Him (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 8:1, 10-12; Revelation 3:21; Matthew 22:44). He will come again to rule the nations and bring peace (Isaiah 66:15-16; Revelation 1:8, 22:12, 20; Matthew 24:42; (1 John 2:28); Acts 1:9-11; (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)).

  • Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation (Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 1:3).
  • Jesus had a miraculous conception and a virgin birth (Matthew 1:23).
  • Jesus lived a perfectly obedient life, always doing the Fathers will, never His own will (John 6:38).
  • Jesus voluntary died on the cross as the substitute for the atonement of people's sins (John 10:15; Romans 5:8; (1 Peter 2:34)).
  • Jesus removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).
  • Jesus' atonement cleanses our conscience (Hebrews 9:13-14, 10:22; Psalm 51:10; (1 Peter 3:21-22); (1 John 1:9).
  • Jesus is blessed and Sovereign (the King of kings and Lord of lords) (1 Timothy 6:15).
  • Jesus became our wisdom from God, there is no knowledge or secret knowledge outside of Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:30).
  • All things were made through Him and for Him, nothing would be made without Him (John 1:3).
Holy Spirit
After Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit was to come. The Spirit of truth, the helper, was sent by the Father to glorify Jesus by confirming Him: He will teach, guide and recall all truth in us (John 14:25-26, 16:12-14). He came into the world to convict it of it's sin for going astray from the truth of God through His Son and judgment for the ruler of this world has been judged and will be driven out ( John 12:31, 16:8-11) and gives witness of Jesus and His righteousness and the will of God (John 15:26, 16:8-11; Psalm 143:10). He is a guide and an instructor of the faith and our lives (Acts 13:2).

  • He pours love into our hearts (Romans 5:5), He is our helper (John 14:16) and His work is for the common good (1 Corinthians 12:7).
  • He is the God of hope, joy, peace and power (Romans 15:13), power and wisdom (Acts 1:5-8), freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).
  • When you repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins then He comes into the hearts of believers (Acts 2:38) as a seal and a guarantee that we will go to be with the Father (2 Corinthians 1:22).
    • He saves us by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).
    • Making your body a temple of the God, with the Spirit inside you, so you're not your own, you were bought with a price to give glory to God in your body (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20).
    • He enables you to obey God (Ezekiel 36:27; Acts 5:32).
  • He gives power and wisdom to believers (Acts 1:5-8).
    • If we walk in the wisdom and power of the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:15-25).
    • And with this power you will be His witnesses over the world with boldness (Acts 1:8; 4:31).
      • To bring good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prison to those who are bound (Isaiah 61:1).
    • He will speak through you when you're on trial (Mark 13:11).
  • He is hope and fills you with joy and peace (Romans 15:13).
    • By His power, you many abound in hope (Romans 15:13).
  • He is a helper, sent in Jesus name, to teach you all things and make you recall Jesus teaching (John 14:16, 26).
  • He gives gifts to man for the building up of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22).
    • Enables you to speak in other tongues / languages as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:3-4) and
    • Enables all prophesying, never by the will of man (2 Peter 1:21; Acts 19:5-6).
    • He enlightens the minds of believers so they can understand the gospel (1 Corinthians 2:14; John 7:17).
  • He can be grieved by you (Ephesians 4:30).
  • Where He is there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).
  • He guides believers and it is for the common good (1 Corinthians 12:7).
  • The fruits of the Spirit are love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Mankind
Man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). He is to bear His glory and live in relationship with Him, but man sinned and broke that fellowship. Through one man, Adam, sin entered the world. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth, for God's invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived since the creation of the world (Romans 1:18-20).
  • We were made equipped to know God (Isaiah 45:5-7).
    • So we could be in relationship with Him: namely that He could be our God and we could be His people (Genesis 17:7; Exodus 6:7; Ezekiel 34:24, 36:28; Jeremiah 7:23, 29:11, 30:22, 31:33; 29:11; Revelation 3:20;  Isaiah 45:5-7).
  • Man knew of God's divine attributes and eternal power, but he chose to not give Him glory (Romans 1:20-21).
salvation
The Bible is a 'good news' message for it shows that God desires to be known and in fellowship with man.  It outlines the redemptive plan of God to bring people back into His presence. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The wages of sin are death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price for our sins; He purchased us with His blood. Salvation is a free gift of grace given by God, not by any works of man so that no man can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). God gave assurance with an oath and a guarantee that He would bring His redemptive work to completion. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified" (Romans 8:29-30).

Faith
  • Salvation is the free gift of God's grace, not the result of human effort or goodness, and it is received by faith alone.
  • A right standing with God can only be obtained by believing in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins and confessing it with your mouth.
  • Requires faith, for it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6; John 3:16-17).
  • Blessed are those who have not seen and believed (John 20:29).
  • By faith, you are children of God with the inheritance of Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:11).
  • By faith, we understand the universe was created by the word of God, so knowing it was not made of anything visible (Hebrews 11:3).
  • By faith, we can trust in the eternal and blessed attributes of God for He is self-sufficient and possesses life, love, power and authority external to creation (Ephesians 3:20).
    • NOTE, His attributes are listed above for which we draw our strength.
  • By faith, we desire to do good for God, for we love Him because He first loved us.
    • Works are a result of salvation through faith: salvation is not obtained by works.
holy living
Believers are to submit their lives and will to the Holy Spirit, leading to a life of holiness and righteousness. They are to live in obedience to God's Holy Word.
  • Believers are called to love God with their whole heart, mind and soul.
  • Believers are called to love their neighbors as they love themselves.
  • Believers are called to live righteously.
the church
We believe the church is the body of believers across the world throughout time. The church is the body of Christ: with Jesus as the Head, joined to the those who have truly received Christ by faith. The body of true believers has believed Jesus to be the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God and Son of Man, their Lord and Savior. All members of the body have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within their hearts at the time of their new birth (Ephesian 1:13, not by a second special baptism or laying on of hands for a select few who want a 'deeper and fuller' relationship with God - for we know, "That unless one is born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). The Bible instructs believers to join together regularly in an orderly fashion for they are the branches and Christ is the root.  Therefore, the local church is a tangible expression of the body of Christ in a particular location. Since all members of the body of Christ are united in Christ by the same Spirit, they should live in love, harmony and unity by being of one accord. The purpose of the church is to make Christ known to lost men, to make disciples, and glorify God on earth (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:13, 20-23; 4:1-6, 4:12-16; Matthew 28:18-20; John 17; Colossians 1:24-29).

They are to partake in communion which is the remembrance of Christ's sacrifice for our sins.
  • All church members, including the leadership, are all sinners saved by the grace of God.
  • The members are to remain true to gospel teachings and look for false prophets.
  • Leadership positions are to be appointed based on giftings of the Holy Spirit and obedience to the word of God (Titus and Timothy).

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe in one God. The expression of Father, Son, Holy Spirit, one God in all. He is the perfect source for all truth (John 4:24; Matthew 28:19).
  2. We believe that mankind was created in holiness but by voluntary transgression fell from this state (Genesis 1:27; 3:6-24).
  3. We believe that the purpose and message of Jesus Christ is redemption of man, salvation, purpose and expression of the accepted Gospel of God. Jesus Christ is fully God, fully Man (1 John 5:11-13).
  4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the full presence of God, individual, yet complete and fully God (1 Corinthians 12:1-).
  5. We believe that mankind is in a fallen condition and his work is unholy without Jesus Christ as LORD. When he invites Jesus Christ into his heart as Lord and Savior then the terms change. He is readying himself for heaven and has access to the correcting force of Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 1).
  6. We believe that there is eternal rest and purpose in the restoration of Jesus Christ to your soul. He will come back and take us with Him. He will return and stay upon the earth for 1000 years, then introduce the new heaven and earth (Revelation 19, 22).
